PGIM Quantitative Solutions doubles down on talent, deepens investment and consultant relations teams

NEWARK, N.J., Sept. 30, 2024 – PGIM Quantitative Solutions (PGIM Quant), the quantitative and multi-asset specialist of PGIM, has expanded its Quantitative Equity, Multi-Asset and Consultant Relations teams. PGIM is the $1.3 trillion global investment management business of Prudential Financial, Inc. (NYSE: PRU).
The firm has appointed Chris Zani as a portfolio manager for its Quantitative Equity unit, reporting to Stacie L. Mintz, head of Quantitative Equity; Claire (Zhenping) Wang, Ph.D., and Di Wang, Ph.D., as researchers for its Multi-Asset division, both of whom will report to Marco Aiolfi, Ph.D., head of PGIM Quantitative Solutions’ Multi-Asset team; and Michael Randall, managing director, Consultant Relations, who will report to Pamela Clancy, head of Global Consultant Relations.

- Chris Zani, FRM, CFA, principal, portfolio manager, Quantitative Equity: In his new role, Zani will focus on implementing and evolving quantitative strategies, client relations and thought leadership. He brings over 20 years of experience serving institutional clients and a strong background in portfolio construction, risk management and managing quantitative equity portfolios. Most recently, Zani was a Quantitative Institutional portfolio manager at MFS Investment Management. Previously, he has held Quantitative portfolio manager positions at Acadian Asset Management, Boston Advisors, and State Street Global Advisors. Zani graduated from Providence College with a B.A. in management and finance.
- Claire (Zhenping) Wang, Ph.D., vice president, Multi-Asset: Wang joins from the State of Wisconsin Investment Board where she was a senior macro analyst, specializing in asset allocation and risk. Wang earned a Ph.D. in finance from Emory University where her research focused on investment anomalies in public equities, an M.S. from Columbia University in operations research with a concentration in financial engineering, and a B.S. in finance from the Harbin Institute of Technology in China.
- Di Wang, Ph.D., vice president, Multi-Asset: Most recently, Wang served as a vice president and senior quantitative research analyst at Northern Trust Asset Management, where she spearheaded the development of quantitative investment strategies, including portfolio construction and risk assessment. Wang earned a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Maryland, College Park, where her research focused on credit risk in emerging markets, an M.A. from Stanford University in international political economy, and an LL.B. in international political economy from Renmin University of China.
Both researchers will focus on conducting original, quantitative research on a variety of topics, including tactical allocation across asset classes, sectors and regions.
- Michael Randall, managing director, Consultant Relations: Randall brings over two decades of financial services experience and will focus exclusively on broadening the firm’s market position in the West Coast. He has held several senior positions in consultant relations, relationship management, and distribution, most recently at GoldenTree Asset Management and prior, at Wellington Management, Acadian Asset Management, Convergent Capital Management, and Northern Trust Global Investments.
